Lee. What's so special about a cat named Lee? Well for starters, Lee is a beautiful male Siamese cat. He has wonderful blue eyes and the prettiest coat of fur. Some may say Siamese cats are bipolar and while that may be true, Lee has a special personality that makes him a treasure. Lots of cats/kittens don’t always come from the best background, and like them, Lee has a pretty interesting story, too. In August of 2024, Lee was found outside of a building, hiding in the ditch trying to find a warm place to sleep at night. Lee was in desperate need of help… he was so skinny and hungry, yet scared of people and the world. The only thing to do was to help him! While it took time to get him to warm up to the thought of human affection, he eventually became more trusting. Lee may not always seem like the happiest little boy on the surface, but he is definitely the most loving. Who doesn’t love a loveable grump?

And if you thought that was all of Lee’s story, it’s not. Lee has been waiting for his forever home in our rescue for a very long time, and the reason for that is he has Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, the scientific name for saying herpes in cats. Although “herpes” sounds gross to humans, the feline version is not contagious to humans and flareups of the virus in cats really just manifests as - Lee has severe allergy symptoms sometimes. He sneezes a lot, his eyes run, and some days he may not want to be as active. Some days are better than others, but this does not change how amazing Lee is! When people hear the word ‘herpes’ it scares them, but it’s a common virus and not a serious health concern. While it IS contagious to other cats, it is not to dogs - and lucky for you, Lee gets along with canines! Please consider meeting Lee - he deserves a loving family. If you’re interested, please fill out an adoption application (select Plant City as the location) - it won’t bind you to adoption, but it’s the best way to arrange a meet and greet so that you can discover that Lee is the purrfect match for you!
